Hej!I too would love that. I am really strnlggiug with the darkness of our Autumn.. I think my genes have reprogrammed because of all the years abroad. Australia never gets this dark..! :)I adore your picture parade. I love the stools in no 3. I have one that I bought as a young architect apprentice, but it's in a sad looking 'natural' colour. Might paint it black.. looks so much nicer.Am still deciding re the lamp. Am leaning towards red.. Your thoughts would be much appreciated - I trust your judgement.x Charlotta

Anonymous AT, Joanna, and Shooting Buddy, I'm in agreement with you all 100%. And Joanna, like you, I only threw in the seed and cnkciehs thing because I didn't want to seem a hard case. You know as well as I do that they would be all eaten in 5 days, with the eaters sitting down and whining for more. I live in the middle of several thousand acres of shade tobacco, used to make the wrapper in high grade cigars. It's 100% huminity and 115 degrees under those nets, and I worked as a picker back in highschool. Talk about a walk in hell, or in the case of working shade, a crawl. You can't get American kids to work shade for love nor money nowadays. For a dozen years or so, they brought in down-scale Jamaican field hands, little if any different that the typical Haitian. Scads of great Jamaicans around here, most of them cream of the crop, but they're literate, predominantly small town people with a fun easy way to them, and a good work ethic. They refer to the nasty bastards out in the fields as "Maroons", and the ambulances filled with machete carved bozos rolled nonstop from payday (Thursday) until Sunday night around here, when the Rastas finally ran out of money. Now they bring in Indians from southern Mexico, way down near Chiapas and Oaxaca on the Guatemalan and Belizian borders. Again, I know first hand the aching agony, dehydration, and heat exaustion that brutal job entails. Every morning they're waiting at the bus stop, freshly scrubbed and with knife edged creases pressed into their work shirts and jeans. A fair number of them are women, and they are treated with courtesy and respect. I buy my food alongside them at the local Stop and Shop, and marvel at the quiet class and gentle good humor of these marvellous people. No, I don't want them to become Americans, because we are already more than full. But with an honest guest worker program, I would be proud to have them as neighbors from May through October, and wish those good people all the good fortune they deserve. And I doubt there is any real difference between a Mexican jungle and a Haitian jungle. Except the people.

The attached link didn't say anhiytng about this topic. There isn't any way to know this because we don't have a sample of pre-Visigothic Spain to compare modern Spanish with. The link shows that the incursions into Spain from the Visigoths, Berbers, and Arabs didn't have much of a genetic impact in general. You don't need samples from pre-Visigothic Spain. You can compare Spain with other European and other populations. The "ez" ending on many Spanish names is from the Visigoths, e.g., Rodriguez = Son of Roderick. You'll notice that these "ez" ending Spanish names generally have German roots as well. There are not any "Juanez" or "Jesusez" but many Martinez, Fernandez, Gomez (from the Visigothic "Gom"), and Gonzalez (from the Visigothic Gundisalv). You'll notice that the Turks speak Turkish despite being mostly Caucasian. The Hungarians call themselves "Huns" and speak Magyar, despite being European. Etc. There are many examples of this sort of thing where culture persists despite genetics not making a huge impact.
